bullet Indoor SJ Team results

Saturday and Sunday, 14th/15th April 2007

The Junior SJ team make the long haul to Hartpury over the weekend of 14th/15th April. There were 28 teams competing in the Junior Championship. Unfortunately for our team, they did not qualify for the second and final round but thoroughly enjoyed the experience of competing against some experienced teams from all over the UK. Elizabeth Barnes on Paddy jumped a fantastic clear round for the team and even the commentator said "What a copybook combination".

There will be another opportunity for the juniors to compete at the summer qualifier in June. Do contact Rachael Mackie (or Mary Cloake) if you need more information.

Sunday, 18th Feb 2007

From left to right:  Eleanor Cloake with Der Silberner Prinz, Sophie Paddock with A Bit More Jazz, Tija Cowie with Tobias and Elizabeth Barnes with Paddy - members of the Junior Aspley Guise Team at the Area 7 SJ qualifier at The College, Keysoe on Sunday 18th February.

The team came second after a nail biting finish which saw three clubs battle it out for first and second place to go through to the National Riding Club Show Jumping Final on 14th/15th April at Hartpury College, Gloucestershire.  Three teams had jumped double clears so there was a third round against the clock.  Rockingham Forest Conkers Team clinched first place with Aspley Guise a close second.

The senior team ended up in 4th place after ending on only 7 faults for the 2 rounds. Not enough to qualify but a great result none the less.

Full report coming soon.

Chef d'equipe...Rachael Mackie
