bullet 2007 Spring Dressage Clinics

New Dates Added by popular demand

Saturday 9th June Thornton

The next Harry Payne clinic will be held on Saturday 9th June, at Thornton, by kind permission of Shirley Rixon for Aspley Guise & District Riding Club members only.  We are getting closer to the Riding Club qualifiers in July so why not take up the opportunity to improve you and your horse with a top trainer and competitor ...

Please complete an application form and send it with your cheque to Mary Cloake, Holl Tree Farm, Leighton Road, Heath and Reach, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 0AA.  £30 individual, £15 each if two sharing.  Remember, no cheque no place - I cannot reserve places by phone or e-mail.    If, having booked and confirmed  your time, you do not turn up for your lesson, the lesson will still be charged for.  Please be as flexible as possible regarding the time of day that you are able to attend.

Harry has been delighted at the way the clinics have run and hopes that all those who have attended are enjoying them too.  Newcomers always welcome.

Recent Feedback:

“Harry really made the lesson fun but I also have plenty to go away and work on!  I will definitely be going to more of his clinics”.

“I had a most enjoyable clinic with Harry on two different horses.  We made good progress in a very short period of time, especially with my mare, who many instructors have on her hind legs in ten minutes (and not through asking for levade!).  Harry made me loosen and push on into long and low before asking for roundness.  It was an excellent lesson”.

Here are some of the problems you’ve told us about:

“I’d really like to know how to get my horse to leg yield and do shoulder in”

“I think I’d like to have a go at a novice dressage test but I don’t know what’s involved …”

“My horse won’t trot in a straight line.  I need help”

Here’s the solution:

Harry Payne, enthusiastic and friendly, runs his own yard near Rugby, producing young horses and is passionate about bringing out the best in riders and horses.  Whether he is teaching you how to walk and trot, persuading your horse to accept the idea of flatwork, flatwork to help with jumping or just improving your flying changes, he’s keen!  He just happens to be a List 3 Judge and is a British Dressage Accredited Trainer (so knows which way round the horse should be facing) and a British Dressage Under 21’s Co-ordinator (so even copes with teenagers).  He has even had a career in Three Day Eventing – so loads of experience and keen to help every member of the Club, big and small, young and old, novice and experienced – you just have to believe it!

You can opt to have a lesson with Harry on your own, or if you prefer to share, you can do so, either coming with a friend, or we will try to pair you up, subject to sufficient interest.  All you need to do is complete the form below, indicating what you would like to work on and what time of day would suit you best.

Date:     Saturday 9th June
Venue:   Hill Farm Barn,  Thornton
Price:
£30 individual, £15 each sharing, for 45 minutes

Please send a cheque for each clinic you would like to come to, park tidily, and clear up any droppings  your horse produces.

If you need directions or have a question, call Mary on 01525 237115
